Dario's Art Vault: Crusaders Re-imagined Page

Here's a piece that I did for a client. Re-imagining a page with the famed Crusaders characters shown together in their HQ. Apparently, this is the only time that these characters are put together in this re-imagine piece. Hope you liked as much as the client.

Cult Classic

This has that cult classic feel that reminds you of the first time you opened up a good comic book.

Thanks Michael! The collector wanted a nostalgic experience with this piece and all the work he collected through the years. He grew up during the Carlton era and to think about the classic books he collected, whoa, it must be quite an experience. I don't even heard of this team until he asked me to do the piece.

I don't even remember these guys! I'm gonna have to do some research on them.

I know eh. I'm not sure if any of the characters are active these days in any of the major publishers. Might be interesting to see what they looked like now.

They're an Archie comics IP, they had a short lived action figure line in the 80s, that's how I first heard of them. Last I heard Rob Liefeld was doing something with them, a modern take or whatever but not sure if that ever came out.

These look great! Visual variety and visual grit.

Your characters don't look stiff, but they look as if they should be taken seriously, because they look serious. These are real contenders for the big capes of superherodom.

I see. Hmmm, Rob Leifield did? I haven't heard too. Maybe you're right, someone or sometime someone did revive these characters. I'll find out. Curious to see what they look now.
