An unknown alien fleet is approaching a
star system already torn by battle. An alien planet is on the brink
of a civil war with the death of a leader. Members of a crew are
reunited. A mystery to be solved. A new menace arises. A hero kidnapped.
Sigil #36 is the latest in a series of
books by CrossGen marked as a Key Issue. Key Issues in the CrossGen
universe are important books that introduce the reader to a new
and much larger portion of the whole picture the CrossGen universe
is slowly moving towards. As I've said in my past reviews, CrossGen
made a promise to its readers that you won't have to pick up all
their books to understand what's going on. If you like Sigil and
it's the only book you read than you're in for one hell of an issue.
However, if you happen to read Negation or a few other CrossGen
titles, than this issue of Sigil might be one you'll want to pick
up.
Chuck Dixon is leaving his own mark on
the CrossGen universe as he continues to write several titles a
month. Since taking on Sigil he has turned this book into an intrusting
sci-fi read. Something I feel past writers fell a bit short on
Joining him is a recent newcomer Dale Eaglesham.
Like Dixon, Dale came over from DC Comics to join the CrossGen crew.
Still fairly new to comics, Dale is learning and growing page by
page, panel by panel. His pacing is good and his page layouts are
getting better and better. Dale is going to be an artist to reckon
with in the very near future.
Sigil #36, another Key Issue from CrossGen,
is on the shelves now at your local comic book store. Check it out.
