Planetary Brigade #2
It was a story so big, so amazing, so pulse pounding, that they just couldn’t keep it contained in one single issue. Planetary Brigade from BOOM! Studios returns to finish what they started by the now infamous creative team of Keith Giffen and J.M DeMatteis.
When we last left our group of heroes they had gathered to stop not one, but two separate threats. However, as this issue begins we quickly discover that one of those threats was only defeated temporarily. As the action escalates so does the danger it poses to the planet earth until only one solution presents itself, a solution that may tear the very Planetary Brigade apart at the seams.
For over twenty years the team of Keith Giffen and J.M DeMatteis have worked together to bring a unique blend of humor and action to the world of super hero comics. They continue that tradition of excellence for BOOM! Studios on Planetary Brigade and never miss a beat. For those of you who picked up the first issue and thought it was just “more of the same”, you really need to grab issue two. Not only does the action ramp up but so does the humor. Giffen and DeMatteis prove nothing is sacred and unleash their special brand of humor upon the masses two-fold in this issue.
Also in keeping with the same formula as issue one, the artistic chores are handled by not one, but a group of talented and creative individuals. Joining Hero Squared artist Joe Abraham this time out are newcomers Fabio Moon, Zid, and Alfa. Each of these artists brings a distinct and creative voice to the look and feel of the Planetary Brigade’s dysfunctional family.
BOOM! Studios is sticking to a solid game plan and that includes books like Planetary Brigade #2. It’s in comic shops the last week of March. The first issue sold out so if you didn’t order it already make sure to get in early to pick it up quick.
