Help With Placements

The following are select panels from a project I'm lettering. The artist on the book suggested moving the balloons on all of these to the top of the panels, but visually after trying I don't think it works as well, and I feel where I've placed them is more appropriate. So I wanted to enlist your expert opinions to see if there is a better placement option.

This one is the first panel of this page.

This one is the first and second panel of its page.

And this one is the last panel of its page (all are different pages, btw).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'd suggest telling the artist how to do HIS job since he's an expert on yours.

(Especially since he didn't take the lettering into consideration when he drew these panels)

As for the actual placements... with what he's given you, you've done the best you can, but the flow is going to be tricky from panel to panel because of the art.

Heh, well he meant well and wasn't trying to be critical. But thanks for the reassurance.

I would move the first two to the top. (I assume in that second one the lower balloon is supposed to be spoken first?)

Without knowing the script and story flow It's a hard call...really. BUT!

On the first one I like what you did, but I'd also consiter upper left.

On the second one i'd really consider moving it up if only for proper flow to the balloon in the next panel.

On the third one i wouldn't change a thing if that actually fits the text and the flow of the story.

Again, I'm not reading the script and the artist really failed to account for the text, so you're not wrong at all.

Shoot the guy!

Okay, here are the first five pages (the fourth page is silent so I just included it here to show the story flow).

Feel free to critique anything else here as well. Thanks.

Wow, it's like acrobatics for the eye. Down, then up, then left and down then right and up, but back down for the next tier. Whoo.

I've moved the balloon on page 3, panel 1 to the top to help with that some. Otherwise I think it flows okay except the first panel on page 2, but that really looks bad at the top.

I think the placements above help move the reader along better.

I reading with the balloons as you have them, I found my eye wandering to the wrong balloons next because they were placed closer to the previous balloon.
