Some new colour stuff.

Hello again. Seems like for ever since I last came here, hope you're all well.

Thought I'd stop by and show some new stuff. Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Duane

Thanks Tmac. Yeah, I have sequentials. It was all I did. I took a bit of time out from them recently to iron out some creases, and try to learn to colour. Here's a few thumbnails.

Wozlok will become famous soon enough
Very nice, the second image is the standout of the bunch for me.

I'm a huge Warhammer 40K fan! These are great! Do you play 4oK?

A 2000ad artist the comic that started my drawing and ruined my life. Love the colour work. The city one stands out for me as i have a thing for city scapes and the rest are spot on aswell.

Where have I seen you before? It's bugging me...

Amazing stuff, man. The painted pics, particularly. Hope to see more.

Cheers Wozlok, glad you like the second one that took me for ever. I usually flip stuff over in PhotoShop to give myself a fresh look at what I’m doing. For some reason that one just looks off balance the other way around. Seems to work OK the way I drew it though.

Bark4, my head is hung in shame. I don’t play, to be honest I live in the middle of no where. I have no one to fight, but I have always loved the images that come from that company. They’re probably part way responsible for me wanting to draw in the first place. I sent the two 40k pics off to them this week along with this tank…

Thanks Hannu, I have had stuff printed in 2000AD, but not enough to call myself a 2000AD artist. The pages up there are all submissions. After I sent the Stront stuff in I was told I could ink my next story for them. That was a while ago now, there’s just too many artists out there to fit them all into one weekly comic it seems.

Ha ha, ditto Mitze. That top one was done for a job application for a concept artist’s job. It was a 40-hour test. I think it took about 30. I passed the test but somehow didn’t get the job…. Little bit gutted about that ‘cause it would have been a cool job. I’ve been looking through some of your work and my cap is doffed. Very nice stuff. I do all my pencilling on photocopier paper too. Just can’t afford Bristle board any more. I stick a bit of backing board between my drawing hand and the paper. Cuts down on a lot of buckling.

Cheers quones, I recognise you’re sig from some where. Could it be the Ronin boards?

Nah, never been there. DeviantArt?

Actually, it might be from here. That would make me quite silly.

Errrr.... nice tank!

Damn dude! Those first couple, and the Land Raider at the end, are absolutely stunning! Certainly better than a lot of the 40K art out there (had a glance through their Art Book the other week), I'd be surprised if they didn't pick 'em up. Maybe it'd be worth working on your own concepts rather than using 2000AD properties - you certainly have some fantastic skills (and your sequential style is nice and varied), might be easier to get a gig when you're not doing exactly the same thing as every other submitter. Just a thought.

I don't go to deviant art. I think you're right. It must be from here. I think the last time I posted was back in May some time.

Thanks Matt, I hope you're right about the Warhammer stuff. I could do with the work.

Thanks again everyone, you're all being very kind. Feel free to rip into this stuff if you want to though. I'm pretty thick skinned.
