I am in shock that Mark Trail is still even around.

Maybe if they played up the talking crotches more, they'd be able to reach a whole new generation of readers!

Well, Curtis is looking at his mom's breast, so maybe he thinks they're talking to him. Curtis is a weird comic, the kid is 13 or 14 and he's still sleeping in the same bed with his 8-10 year-old brother. There's definately a whole incest thing going on. I get that their poor, but there comes a point where I'd rather sleep on the floor.

Bob Layton needs some lettering tips, too:

Football balloons, crossbar-Is, white space issues, tails touching characters, iffy diamond stacking, and more!

I actually kind of like the Bob Layton stuff... not so much the shape of the balloons or the placement of the tails... or his use of the crossbar I, but the hand lettering itself isn't bad. He's consistent enough... although it *could* possibly be a font... but it doesn't seem to be.

Hand lettering is really REALLY not easy to do, so I gotta give props to anyone that at least attempts it. lol.

Well you'd know your own font. How's it feel to see it used like that?

What's VERY funny about this to me is Bob and I got into a pretty heated discussion a few years back about computer lettering vs. hand lettering. At the time, he was so ademently against computerlettering he said he'd never let it be used in any of his books if he had the choice.

Guess times change.

Well, in that case, I retract my statement.

I like the FONT.

But salt man's tail is dead on though...right under that metal contraption ( what is it called? I forget...) where the salt comes out. I take it that would be his mouth, if ever there was a salt man.
