Too sweet. The colors are fantastic, except maybe for the green text on the yellow.

I'd say the only thing keeping this pic from being classic 80's is the feathering or specifically the lack of. Some Terry Austin like inking would solidify this as an 80's throwback. Looking good though and where's my comic?

It's that way to mimick the cover it's based on.

I think the difference is Spidey #129 used a darker green....more of a pine green than a grass green. Still an awesome cover though. A well executed "homage."

The color is actually pretty close. Not exact, but pretty close. I knew it was used as an homage to the cover it's based on, but it still doesn't look that great.

It... didn't really look that great back then, either. In my humblest of opinions.

Green on yellow definitely rocks - that's the national colours of Australia

Yeah, plus green and yellow compliment each other. I did eyedrop the green but it's only as good as a scan. I think the reason the green looks odd to you guys is because the yellow isn't dead-on. It was the first thing I noticed, but I didn't worry about it since it's not suppose to be an identical rip. I may go in and tweak the green before it shoots off to the printer.

yes back then everything was done with 25% screens so the yellow would have been 100%Y. This looks like it has a bit of magenta to get it a warmer orange tint. Adding a bit more blue to the green should make it pop more.

I might actually go in and just make it dark red.

I'd just make the yellow more yellow.
Awesome homage though.
