What does this look like?

I brought this in and my professor thought that it was someone playing cricket. I didnt get mad i actually appreciated the honesty. Do you guys have any tips to avoid things like this?

You know , to avoid people misreading your artwork?

Im planning on adding the feet and working on it some more so suggestions would be helpful. I just brought what i had to class today but this is very close to what most of my final work ends up looking like

Thanks

Luis

I'm just glad his arms and the object he's holding are not closer to his torso, 'cause then I have a feeling your professor's mind would have gone to a much filthier place! LOL!

Oh yes haha. I have this professor that always points out things like this in peoples work. I remember one time their was a girl who drew a sketch of a figure who was holding something near the torso and was also in front of a wet canvas. Im gonna let you imagine what he said that it looked like haha

Oh i see. I was trying to just have a warrior standing around with a pose holding a giant sword with a landscape in the background. Yes pretty much doing nothing lol .

But yes maybe laying the solid black on the sword was not a good idea. Ok i will work on making it look closer to a sword

And ill add some more props so that he looks more of like a warrior

Thanks Sevans

reference a sword too. Its not the black that makes it look like a bat, its the shape. and he does look like he's, I'll say it, jerking off. The pose, is just....pointless.....for a warrior

I DO like the style though, but the underlying structure also needs work and more thought before going wild on it.

Yup, that... is a cricket bat.

Room for a lot of improvement here; I do recognize the Studded Armor and Iron Helmet but only because I have like a bazillion hours in Skyrim; I don't blame your professor for his confusion.

Thank you Sahith. I noticed that ur not an illustrator so I really appreciate you jumping in and making a comment.
Getting an honest opinion from someone who doesnt draw is actually pretty helpful

Thank you I'll work on making it readable

Everybody critiques everything around here; it's normal.
