Return of Me

So I've been away, honing my craft. After the image, I'll say a little something about myself to remind you who I am, or introduce myself to those who don't know me.

I'm going for a Moore/Adlard The Walking Dead style, black and white with toning. Thoughts?

I'm a disabled mouth artist living in California. I draw with my mouth on a Wacom Cintiq tablet generously provided by Wacom. All artwork is digital – there are no ‘original’ or ‘hardcopy’ versions.

I think you are BRILLIANT. There are no words in the English language for me to commend you enough. I think your command of the character's posture is "bull'seye", I think the vibe of the piece is very "Neneh Cherry" from when she did Trout (which gets a standing ovation" and I think your control of the grayscales and textures are like good litho- art from the Man Ray days.

Are you writing your own material, or are you one who wants script pages to work from?

Again, GREAT job.

Thank you! I'm writing, illustrating, and lettering the whole lot.

Here are two character templates I just finished.

I appreciate that!

Are they pro-quality, though? I'm wanting to do an 18-page b&w in the vein of The Walking Dead and Fell.

GOOD question, and I admire the courage to ask that.

The answer is, "it depends". On many things, for example, the pics above are, in my browser, the size of a large paperback. If they are going to be reduced as per comics standard policy to 70% smaller size (or smaller than that) without the grays "clotting", I'd say "yes". But to answer fairly, I would need to see what you imagine to be an example of the finished page, at the final size, with panels in relation to each other (e.g., the layout of the page, bowing to Steve Rude, Jack Kirby, Love and Rockets, etc.)

These are slightly bigger than comic book pages at 300dpi when viewing the print files. The pics you see above are roughly 1/4 size of that. So yeah, the detail and resolution are high. They SHOULD print about like you see them.

I'll be working on sequential pages in the coming days. I'm just doing pinups right now while I figure out how I want the first issue to start.

The pin-ups are fine, man, they have a great vibe to them, and an emotional warmth. Emotional warmth is what makes Neil Gaiman's stuff SING. Like a DIVA. If you have the Warmth, you have something no-one can go for you, but you can do for others, or give to others.

I haven't commented on a thread for a while but felt compelled when I saw this post.

Completely agree with Diablo's comments.

Great job and being able to carry out all aspects of comic creation (lettering, greyscaling etc) impresses me even more.

Fantastic work.

Wow! Thank you! Do you think the style is pro enough to put together a 5-page submission?

Are you kidding me? This style gives for a 200 pages GN.
But before to go further on my enthusiasm, I will like to see how do you manage your sequentials.
