Forbidden Planet, New York City store logos
At my blog, Tenth Letter of the Alphabet, are the logo sketches and art for the New York City Forbidden Planet store. There were two versions:
the first, in 1982, is covered in Part 1, alphabettenthletter.blogspot.com/2012/07/anatomy-of-logo-forbidden-planet-part-1.html and the second, in 1984, is in Part 2. alphabettenthletter.blogspot.com/2012/07/anatomy-of-logo-forbidden-planet-part-2.html |

It's always a fascinating process, and you preserved it so well. The Letraset catalogues were as useful a jumping-off point as the Dan X. Solo type specimen books.
I'm surprised they wanted you to do another version just two years after the first, but there you go. |

After 28 years, it's hard to remember the exact reason for the logo change, but a job is a job.

Congratulations!
Thanks for share. I like both. The second version looks more light and elegant. IMHO. ![]()
