I probably won't be able to see the movie for quite a while. I was wondering about a couple of things as I don't mind spoilers at all...already spoiled pretty much 100% of the movie...

Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch created the Chitauri in their initial Ultimates run...an alien race that were essentially Ultimate Skrulls. I heard the movie features the Chitauri...are they shape-shifting aliens like they were in the Ultimates comic or something else entirely?

My memory is for shit...remind me again what the Tesseract is exactly? Wasn't it in the Thor movie?

Who is the character that Loki interacts with and referred to as "the Other" supposed to be? Based on a comic character or made for the movie-verse?

I think "The Other" is just a new character created for the movie. I can't find any reference to him in the comics. He seems to be working for someone else though, whom we get a glimpse after the end credits to setup the next movie.

I see the official reports are the film toppled the 200 million mark, shattering Harry Potter's Deathly Hallows 2 record and also the Dark Knight. Avengers looks to be the biggest box office opening in history, even when adjusted for inflation.

It's kind of likely that every new blockbuster will now see the past blockbuster's record broken.

Watch everyone "Ooh" and "Aah" when TDKR shatters that of Avengers.
