It would work after being introduced in Avengers 2. Thanos, big battle, aliens, guardians, Thanos defeated. Carol Danvers and Mar Vell, Guardians, chase after Thanos. Guardians flick then has basis. I've a feeling Carol Danvers will be introduced in IM 3. just a hunch. Since the outer space entities and Gods have all been introduced time to go balls to the wall with a Thanos Skrull invasion for Avengers 2. But most likely whatever Marvel flick is in line to be made will start giving clues to what will come in Avengers 2. It worked well before so why not repeat it. Oh and since we now know that the cube is a gateway that means the Red Skull was transported to Asgard. Maybe he comes back in Cap 2.

Sigh. This forum used to have a sense of humour. Although it can't go un-noted at the huge amount of irony in your post. I'll put you down as someone who takes things too seriously.

Just in case you missed it - MY POST WAS TONGUE-IN-CHEEK.

Um... Yes, that's my point. The scene takes place in 1986, according to the opening caption. Xavier is walking, and they aren't sworn enemies... twenty-odd years AFTER First Class when Xavier was crippled and Magneto left.

Forget this argument.
Why, because you have no rebuttal?

heh in Wolverine Prof X was bald and walking and that was supposed to be in the 70's as 3 mile island accident was in the 70's.
I think that scene was meant to be a mental projection anyway, given that he had been telepathically communicating with Scott for quite a while before that scene.

Quote:
Wrong, in X1 Magneto's helmut was also a telepathy blocker. Go back and watch the train station scenes.
Non sequiturs are funny. Magneto was said to have built it in X2. If he just took it from Kevin Bacon, it stands to reason that he didn't build it at all.

I have no clue what this is supposed to mean.

At any rate, Fox would be idiots to not call it a reboot at this point, given that Ratner murdered the franchise. It's the last chance for a fresh start they're going to have for a long time.

No because if you know anything about McCoy you'll know he used to have an image transducer/ inducer which would make everyone see him as he used to look. So it's not worth arguing or making any bones about.

Tell me where that scene occurs so I can go watch it. I think you have conflated the fact that the helmut was modified for X2 with Magneto having created the helmut

I know.

Murdered as in making more money than the other two and even more than Wolverine and First Class, that kind of Murder?

I think that says it all.

Move on.

^Valid point. I hadn't thought of it, but that's a totally valid explanation. That's probably the smallest continuity problem I could have thought to mention, though.

I'm too lazy to go dig up a timestamp. I believe he said it to Pyro, possibly toward the end of the movie aboard the helicopter.

Actually, X3 was only the most successful in gross revenue. X2 did far better in regard to breaking even and then some (net profits).

Anyway, I don't actually care if you agree with me or not. And not just because I don't like you; I have no psychological need to agree with anyone or for anyone to agree with me. I've given my opinion on the whole thing, and I'm not going to drive this thread any more off-topic.

X3 only costs as much as it did due to that loser who ran off just before filming started so the production costs up till then were added on same as with Superman Returns, they added all the work done on previous attempts costs to Singers abortion.
Nawp, I don't think anything like that was said to anyone by Magneto at anytime in X2.
And this isn't about opinions this is about provable facts. You make claims to support your opinions and when they are proven to be wrong or faulty you get huffy.
Avengers is out, this thread is no longer relevant anyways.

I was mistaken. It was the first movie, and Magneto wasn't the one who said it; don't know about a timestamp on it, but this is the dialogue:

Quote:
Xavier (explaining why he can’t find Magneto with Cerebro): “He’s found some way to shield himself from it.”

Wolverine: “How would he know how to do that?”

Xavier: “Because he helped me build it.”
That bit is doubly problematic because, not only did Magneto not produce his helmet (the Russians did, before giving it to Kevin Bacon), neither Xavier nor Erik were involved in McCoy's building of Cerebro in (actually, prior to) First Class.

Ah but did you stop to think maybe a mutant psychic scrambled everyone's memories at some point between films? Huh? Huh??

That explains EVERYthing! Whew!

No?

Uhm uhm uhm... okay, incorrect facts... uh... Oh! Who says they weren't lying? That's right, at some point something occurred that caused the characters to lie about past events - like they have a pact.

The Obi Wan "your father is dead" excuse, right?

No?

Mooooom! Supermonkey's not letting me make shit up to patch up shitty film-writing!!

That was about Cerebro and how Magneto can block Cerebro. But like we all know First class just messed all that up. Ahh but maybe next Class flick, maybe Mags rejoins the X-men and he does help McCoy and X to build the version of Cerebro we see in the Singer flicks. Because if that little ditty isn't made true then how did Mags know what to do in the government built Cerebro? After all, all the info that they used to build their Cerebro came from Mags under torture and mindgames from Strykers kid

X-Men: First Class is clearly the best of the X-Men films. Ryan, I am interested to know what rubbed you the wrong way about this film.

X-Men looked like a made for TV movie and sucked thoroughly. X2 was the most entertaining. X3 was, as someone else put it, an abortion of a film. And Wolverine...oh, Wolverine...that was some sad shit. I'd have to say Wolverine was even worse than X3. Ah fuck it, they are tied.

It's been a while since I've seen it and I've flushed most of it from my mind like a bad dream, but I remember watching it and just not enjoying it at all. I remember sitting there just wishing it would end. I didn't like the characters they used in the movie. I thought it was full of plot holes (as someone here has already itemized) and it was a terrible script. If I saw it again to remind myself, I could give you a more detailed review, but I have no interest in submitting to that kind of misery. It was seriously one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Like ... Green Lantern bad.

I don't know that First Class has any plot holes if you're not trying to wedge it into the world of the other three X-Men movies. It felt like a retcon, so you just go with it.
