These are some really strong pages. I noticed a few anatomy and proportion issues, but the storytelling is excellent, and your framework and perspective are fantastic. Overall, very good! One pice of advice I would give would be to vary your line weights a little to give more of a sense of depth. Good though, I hope to see more from you!

Cheeseisgood1918 what if he likes his lines like this, would he be doing something wrong by not changing them? I don’t need to be schooled on line weight, but since you mentioned that he should vary his lines, I want you to share your thoughts about it so that others may benefit as well. Honestly some people don’t care about line weight, but I want to hear about its benefits and if there’s a point to it or not, I want to hear about this every chance I get. Thank you.

This probably explains it better than I could, but I'll try anyway. Varying line weights adds contour and depth to an illustration. It helps define shapes and figures and helps the eye determine which items are in the foreground (thicker, heavier lines) and which are in the background (thinner, sometimes even broken lines). Also, you can change the weight of a line as you are making it. A line can start one size and grow or shrink, creating the illusion that something is receding into the background or bursting toward the foreground, great for perspective shots. Lineweights are one of the hundreds of seemingly unimportant things that many artists forget about, but they are incredibly important because they can make or break a picture. They can seem unimportant though, because you can go your whole life never noticing that the lines are different sizes, but they're there and they're important. There's nothing wrong with the OP's way of static lines, but I'm suggesting maybe he try to go a little out of his wheelhouse and give it a shot. I wish I could find two versions of the same pic, one using static line sizes and one with varying, but I can't find any, and I don't have a way to upload anything of my own right now to illustrate my point. Can anyone out there throw me an assist?
Hopefully the link helps a bit as well. |

No worries. I like passing on what knowledge I have as I learned much of what I know here. I don't really have any formal art training, but I have learned a helluva lot from the good folks at DW. There are probably quite a few young artists who actually don't know about line weights and many other overlooked aspects of art, so it's always good to pay it forward so to speak.

Fantastic pages, very easy to read, and some nice facial expressions. No citiques from me.
To be honest this artwork is as good as many of the books put out by Marvel and DC. |

I ussually care about line weights; this time I have all of my thoughts on framework (it's my first time on sequential art) and just it go away from my sight, so really thank you for remark that! I will add them on the final work and post here. |
