Is anyone on Spotify?

If you're a music lover and you're not on Spotify, you should be.

It's like iTunes preloaded with every song every published, and you can make and trade playlists, sync with FB so all of your friends with Spotify will be linked, and you can use the program to centralize all of your musical libraries. I rarely even use iTunes anymore. It's a in-depth search engine, but it doesn't allow you to download any music. But you can easily build an unlimited amount of playlists.

While it is free to use, you can opt to buy a membership that eliminates ads, among other features.

Spotify used to be great. Unlimited free music, if you didn't mind putting up with a few adverts. Then they decided you could only have 10 hours of free music per month. 10 hours per month - that's like 3 days worth for me. If you want more, you have to pay. Why?! I was happy to have the adverts for things I didn't need in exchange for (nearly) all of the music I ever wanted. Because they don't have everything - if you're a fan of Oasis or the Beatles, forget it.

I loved Spotify. Then they got greedy. Now they aren't on my Christmas card list any more

I wonder if they have a time limit on the American version? I don't see any mention of it. Or maybe this version is in beta...

You're using the European version, right? I think music libraries are regionally different. Like, the American version has tons of Oasis tracks, but I've come across other bands that aren't available on the American servers. And not that I'm a White Stripes fan, my friend is, but it hardly has any of their tracks.

It's in the TOS.

Six months free, and then you have 10hrs free/month.

I used playlist all the time, and it's still good to use because sharing tracks doesn't require everyone to have a Spotify account to hear it.
