Batman Incorporated...LORD DEATH MAN!

Who's reading Batman, Inc? Lord Death Man has stolen my heart. Lord Death Man wreaked more havoc in two issues than most villains have their entire careers. Lord Death Man has the most badass name ever conceived for a comic character.

Lord Death Man. What a fucking name.

In just two issues, Lord Death Man:

-Killed Mr. Unknown, a Japanese super hero
-Filled someone's apartment up with water and stuck a giant octopus inside it (awesome)
-Proved his distaste for disabled children
-Shot up a hospital
-Drove a sports car, mid-air, through a building while firing his assault rifle AND talking shit
-And got shot into fucking SPACE by Batman, inside a Japanese satellite, sentenced to orbit the Earth forever because even Batman knew that mighty Lord Death Man could not be jailed

Of course, he'll be back because LDM cannot die.

Hail the greatest villain of all time!

LDM being awesome

You fail. LDM cannot be killed.

Brutal. Though I had hoped that Japan's top criminal would be religious fanatics releasing sarin gases to schools and slaughter hundreds (I guess it's not as relevant nowadays), this villain is still quite badass. What I don't like about the issue? Mr. Unknown's costume.

His costume looked like a rip-off of Kato's.

I think you're wrong man. For us adult fans, the sarin attacks are still relevant, and kids in the Western world are very aware of bio-chem attacks thanks to the post-9/11 world.

Mangaka Urasawa Naoki had already put the memory of the sarin incidents as the inspiration for his 20th Century Boys in a highly realistic way. Perhaps it's just Morrison that doesn't think it's still relevant. Anyway, he's taking a jab at Batman archetypes, not making a social commentary on real world crimes in Japan. I kind of wished he would though.

Overall, it's an entertaining two-parter.
