Turtles: Dawn of the Ninja - fan graphic novel progress

I've been hired to illustrate a fan-based graphic novel called TURTLES: DAWN OF THE NINJA, which is a darker, grittier, realistic take on TMNT. The creators were inspired by Batman Begins to take their favorites heroes in a half-shell seriously. They are powerful ninjas, not just goofballs. And they are fighting evil warriors who want to kill. Ninjas get bloody fighting other ninjas.

FANTASTIC work Ray. Your painting is incredible and I love how each turtle is build differently.

you always seem to impress me, no matter what the subject matter is. i really love the painted leo....its fantastic! great job, and i look forward to seeing more of this project

Well done Ray! This was what the Turtles were in the original comics, and it would be cool to see a return to form. Excited about this project!

You have come such a long way. This is incredible stuff. It makes me excited about turtles for the first time in years! I hope I show this kind of progression of skill when all is said and done. Rad stuff dude.

I love you Ray. These are freaking awesome!!

I love that you made their body types different, but I'd rather see Leo with more of the body type Don has and Don have the body.

i wish leo's hands were visible in like a fighting pose in the colored piece. it just looks like he's akwardly standing still. i like the colored raph, but i don't get why mikey and raph are way more diesel than leo and don. the difference is too drastic. also, their arms are as long as their legs. sorry to be so critical, it's just that i'm picky. but that's what this site's for, right? anyway, hope to see more soon.
