Little advice?

Hi,

I have a question for someone who might know such things: I have 2 kids and stupidly never registered their births, and ones starting school soon and i need a birth certificate asap, but the process takes a long time to get thru.

Is there a way to expedite this process? Does anyone know? I live in Canada if that makes a difference to the prodecure.

My own stupid fault for not getting this taken care of sooner.

Thanks for helping!

I googled 'register a birth in Canada' and found this . It says that you should register a birth within 30 days - not sure if there'll be legal implications for not doing so...

When your baby is born, they give you papers in the hospital to be filled out. It's very important to get them registered..... I'm sure if you go to any CLSC they will tell you where you need to go..... If it is just to speed things up, honestly I don't think you can, unless you know someone in a really high place.....

Friggin' Steinbrenner...

Tom, assuming they were born at a hospital, I would start by calling them first, as there should be hospital birth records (which is often what the state/government run agencies will use to create an official birth record).
