So what is going on with EON boards?
And I was just about to order some boards to test out and they've gone on hiatus. I know many use them religiously.
Anyone know what is going on? If it's just a repricing then why the long downtime?

They used to have a customer service phone number on their site. I've called and ordered boards before---maybe you can go that route.

I went to buy some yesterday and say that they were on hiatus which is a shame because I can't afford the shipping for a bulk order.

I think they're getting a new paper stock because the old paper was getting too expensive. I was using Eons for a 24-page story but after page 6 I might just have to switch over to plain bristol for the time being. I really dig Eon and I hope this hiatus means really really nice quality paper when it's all over!

Indeed, it seems like they're doing their best to keep their costs down which is great news for us even if we have to wait awhile for paper.

I'm kind of excited to try out the new paper. I believe they changed stock before. I had a giant pack of Eons which lasted me 5 years, then when I ordered new pages last Spring the paper was different. It was still a good stock, but the texture was a teensy bit rougher. I really dug the very smooth boards I got back in 2004 and I hope the new stock is similar.

Likewise -
I went to order some online about 1 week ago and saw their post. Brett is a good guy, so I am content to wait a little while. |
