Was there ever a Kraven vs. The Black Panther effort? Doesn't that seem to write itself?
I'm not sure where to post this but I thought maybe we could spin off it to practice some "directed" pitch ideas. May a C&C sort of thing. Anybody interested? Maybe we could do an informal pitch contest/effort and after some C&C, then make a 5 page story/first 5 pages- effort out of it. Any takers?

That sounds like a match made in heaven. I almost can't believe it hasn't been done.

Maybe we could poll the script and then use the winner as the "official pitch script" then poll the sequentials and use the winner as the "official pitch sequential". Of course, the other entrants would be free to pitch their stories.

Let's just see if we get enough interest to even make a poll. Shall we make the deadline a week from today, or stretch for the following week-end?

Already checking to see if they have anything in common.
Are we going to do a pitch first? To weed out the lesser attempts. |

Yeah, I would like to try a pitch effort first. Format is not such a big deal as is brevity and clarity. We can C&C from there, make editorial changes in both grammer and content and then do a script effort after we have cleaned up our Pitches.

I'd give it a go.
Not sure about either of character but that's nothing a little research can't fix

And We Have A Winner!!!
How's this,
Kraven sneaks a team of poachers to the snowy mountain ranges of Wakanda (is that how they spell it?) hunting the yeti (which has been sighted there). This is being done without T'Challa's permision. He flips and tracks them down, taking them out 1 by 1. A final EPIC battle ends with Kraven and T'Challa falling, seemingly, to their deaths only for a yeti to grab them and save them. Kraven then carries T'Challa (who's out cold and unaware of what's happened) to the foot of the mountain before fleeing Wakanda and vowing (to himself) never to return (out of respect for the yeti) "I'd buy that for a dollar" Barri |

This is good. But you have given Kraven a nobility that he really only pretends at. I think it would make a good read. Personally, I would rather Kraven had to kill a yeti to save T'challa, and then ending the story as you have here, but with a promise to return to vanquish the Black Panther when he (T'challa) has been restored to full health. |

So, I've been thinking about this for a few days, and decided that to do a current in continuity story, you would have to use one of Kraven's sons in the story, being that Kraven is dead and hasn't been brought back(thank god) to my knowledge. After doing some research on his sons, I found this, from wiki:
"Next, he was hired by the White Wolf, head of the deposed Wakandan secret police, to capture the Black Panther. The Black Panther turned the battle around, nearly killing Alyosha[Kraven 2]. " So, there's that. After some thought, I think I would do the story as a prequel to Kraven's Last Hunt because the real Kraven is the only one anybody really cares about anyway. Also, the one thing that is simply a must for a story like this, is that Black Panther wins unequivocally. Kraven is a loser. He always loses to Spider-man, and each time he does he feels his honor being crushed. It drives his quite mad. So, despite how many fans Kraven may have, or how dramatic it may seem, there can be no "tie" or unsure ending to this, Black Panther must win, least of all because Black Panther is a winner. I mean, the whole point of Black Panther's first appearance was how impressed the Fantastic Four were of him. So, preparing for his final hunt, Kraven spends weeks traveling through Africa, living in solitude in the jungles, hunting big game and honing his animal instincts. Eventually, while stalking a panther(naturally) he has a run in with the Black Panther. I think the fight would actually be very short. Perhaps, while hunting the Panther, Kraven realizes that he himself is being hunted. A brief melee ensues. Kraven should be fighting with a savage, animalistic fury, where as Black Panther is calm, relaxed, and graceful. Black Panther captures him, and imprisons him in Wakanda. Eventually, Kraven escapes and heads to New York in order to start hunting Spider-man, taking with him some kind of lesson from his fight with the Black Panther, probably something about animal savagery and man's intelligence combined together make the most dangerous hunter(it's been many, many years since I read those Spider-man comics, so I don't actually know how that jives with how Kraven was written back then). I think the focus of the story should be Kraven's mad determination to be better than Spider-man, and how despite his best efforts, he never will be. It should profile the desperation one feels when they can never seem to succeed at the one thing they think they are born to do. It should prominently feature Kraven lying to himself, believing any excuse he can think of for why he is defeated, both by Black Panther and Spider-man. In the end we see the characters for who they are, Black Panther is a noble warrior, and Kraven is a delusional sociopath. I think that profiles both the characters quite nicely. |

See that's what I mean when I said I know nothing about Kraven or Panther.
Kraven... dead! Huh! I'm a "yetiac" so I had to work one in somehow.
