X-Men panel
This is a panel from some X-Men pages I'm working on. I wanted to further experiment with some dry brushing techniques to create some grays. The dry inks seem to have held up even after converting to pure black.

The technique works ok on the foreground cyclops, but just looks messy and unfinished on Angels wings.
IMO (just my taste), this style doesn't suit an X-men comic. |

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I didn't know how to handle Angel's wings. I was initially just gonna black them out, but I thought it might be too jarring. Angel is the figure I had the most trouble with.

Aside from the sloppy look of Angel's wings I thought this was fucking fantastic. i really like the style, and I think it fits the X-men terrifically. I like Cyclops and Wolverine especially, though can't quite tell who the shiny guy is back there. I'd guess a bald colossus, or maybe Ice-Man, but it just doesn't look like ice-man to me. or maybe he's not even shiny and I'm just seeing things.
Anyway, I like the mood conveyed by this image. Maybe not as polished as it could be but still cool. |
