This is going to sound abit harsh - BUT.... decent rendering and colours cannot hide bad anatomy.
The Vampirella is the worst offender. Her head looks too small, very high breasts, torso feels far too long, as does her upper arms and lower leg. Calve muscle/lower leg far too thick etc. The batgirl isn't perfect, but is far superior to the vampi picture. |

I think you should also make sure your composition works before moving on to all that work painting. Where you place the figure in the picture plane and the negative space surrounding them is the most important thing you can do in a painting.

sevans Thank you for your comments on my post, I had problems in the areas you mentioned and tried to get them right, but it appears I did not. After working on an image for awhile I find that my mind tends to cheat (I don't know how to better explain it) and I can no longer see some flaws. Anyways enough excuses, thank you again for the feedback.
steve Thanks for commenting on my art. I am working on understanding composition better and hopefully I can show some better work in the future. |

That is why 'fresh eyes' are always good. Have you tried the looking at it in a mirror or upside down tricks? Sometimes if I'm stuck or unsure I'll leave it for a day or two, do something else and then come back to it. |
