ok, i know what you guys are thinking, "not another set of characters designs!"
these are for a tryout for a gig. hope i get it.

anyway, what's interesting about this set of characters designs i did is that the character descriptions for each character is so short. it was fun to do.

ADAM MALLORY (26), unshaven, hair a mess, everything about him seems stained with sadness. An EMT so he’s in good physical shape. Our hero.


(and no bill, there's no duck description in there. lol!)

BRANDON MALLORY (24), rugged, thin but fit, scratches underneath a PLASTER CAST encasing his LEFT ARM.



DARBY (27), bag of chips in hand stands behind him, his hairy beer belly matches his beard.



DEMONS: Skin, like burnt steak. Frame of a human face. Their eyes are just like Grillo’s, but with coal-black irises inside blood red spheres. All different heights and weights, male and female, provide distinction, but they’re all built like hunched over humans.

I love the poses and spotted blacks, but I have to tell you.... they still don't look anything like a chicken!

Yes, even his pants are stained with sadness. At least I HOPE that's sadness...

Absolutely beautiful! If you don't get this gig, I'd have to wonder where they could reasonably expect to find better work.

Around here, all the emt's I see are morbidly obese and pale. You often see the ambulances (or ambuli) parked at a McDonald's or Friendly's -- definitely a health conscious bunch.

hi mk, you could still see his right nostril, so the face is not really angled to have the ridge of the nose partially cover part of the right eye.

anyway, i didn't reply to this sooner because i wanted to improve on my next designs before i post. so you guys might see if indeed i did improve with all your advices in mind.

so here we go:


NAILS: More human than the others, bleached skin, creepy thin, androgynous, and nearly seven feet tall stands with open arms. His white FINGERNAILS could be nearly a foot long.


DEPUTY GRILLO (30’s), an ogre of a man wearing mirrored shades. He’s calm and collected. Behind his sunglasses, his eyes are all BLOOD RED, as if all the blood vessels burst inside the whites all at once.


BILLI (25), a thin, mocha-skinned girl-next-door. Her beauty is so natural it looks synthetic.


i also made this other girl design which i wouldn't be placing up here because the drawing flaws are just horrendous! i'll just fix them up when i do the actual pages.
