Special Halloween Bonus Challenge!

I wanted to squeeze this one in just for fun before Halloween.

The challenge is to write a 1,000 to around 3,000 word story using my favorite subject to write about, ZOMBIES!

There are many different kind of zombies in the genre, I personally lean towards the Brooks/Romero Zombies, but you don't have to.
This is a free write, so you just have fun with it, but include the living dead.

Due date is HALLOWEEN NIGHT AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME (11 Central). We'll put up a poll then, and the winner will get a super awesome secret prize thingie.

BuckyRig can tell you all about the awesomeness of my prizes.

This collection of stories reminds me of a anthology that was put out some time ago..I have it in paperback. I think it was called Book of the Dead. Very similar to what we're doing here. Soon as I can find what the fuck I did with my glasses I want to read the rest of your stories, Jon

Nope this is it. I have the paperback edition and I believe it got packed away when my youngest was born and I closed down my studio for a couple years. I'll have to get in the attic and see if I can find it. The hardcover edition is out of print. I also noticed there's a Book 2.

It's Halloween night, 2008. Jim is up in his attic looking for his packed zombie book, he hears a low, gargled moan coming from behind a stack of boxes... that's the moment when the batteries in his flashlight die.

It isn't my fault, you guys have infected me with zombie-itis!
I hate zombies!
