Mustek A3 Pro - Vista Compatible?

Does anyone use the 11x 17 Mustek scanner with Vista? I know the website says it works with Vista, but that doesn't count for much considering I've read a ton of reviews complaining about compatibility issues and driver problems. I haven't been able to find much info about how it works with Vista, though.
Thanks.

Yep, it is- I purchased one a month ago and have no problems whatsoever in Vista- I believe that the one I purchased through Amazon is a new version of the scanner. The compatibility problems are reported mainly for MAC OS. It's a nice scanner. It's great for my purposes. I'm sure I'll have to upgrade to something else for color, but I'm happy that I don't have to stitch comic pages together anymore.

Compatibility issues with every program. I am Vista's bi***. *shakes fist angrily* Damn you Bill Gates!
Didn't a pop up tell you where to go to download the patch or driver or whatever?
That's what I've had to do with most programs.

I'm running Vista 64 and Mac OS X and my Mustek A3 1200 pro works fine in both. The drivers on the CD are junk but had no problem downloading the current drivers from the internet.

if its the new mustek that says it's vista compatible the only warning is that you have to use mustek's software to do the scanning.

every time i try to use vista's imaging/scanning software (which works fine for the scanner/printer/copier/microwave oven i have) on the mustek the scanning arm gets stuck halfway back on the return pass.

other then that little detail, i've had no conflicts.

don't know, i've never scanned anything in via photoshop. i normally scan it using whatever program it came with or the vista imaging module and save it as a tiff then open it in photoshop.

Hey Saul, I just bought one from Amazon and I make your concerns mine! I'm working under Vista (home edition) and will let you know if it works fine here. Should be arriving next week.

Today I finally got my hands on my new scanner...

And it works beautifully!!! Just tested it with some layout pages and they came out in a pretty decent quality. I have yet to put it through a real test with higher resolution and colors but I don't think I'll have any trouble with that.

The driver installation is actually fast and efficient for Vista. It comes with a few extra softwares I still haven't found any use for but the scanning software itself works fine with an easy to follow interface. Works even better with the TWAIN drivers if you intend to scan your images straight to Photoshop or other software.

I've seen a lot of people complaining about MAC driver. It comes with a specific manual for that issue. As a Windows user I can't address on that matter but I think the newer versions (mine is 2008) are fully compatible.

The actuall scanner is quite large, so You'd better have some room saved in your desk. Other than that everything looks fine. For it's low price I'd say is the best deal out there.

Hope it helps you make up your mind.
