Another poser artist warning.

A client I'm working for was submitted samples by a Jason Stevens and showed samples of his work. I'll have to post the pencil samples when I get the chance, but the paintings he posted here:

These paintings were only done by Jeremy Jarvis who is the Art Director for Wizards of the Coast's Magic the Gathering....

The pencil art, I'm not too sure but was probably lifter off of deviantart most likely as that seems to be the happy hunting ground for these losers.

Okay, I had to reread your post several times before I understood what you're trying to say.

Your client is showing samples of work by one "Jason Stevens", but you're saying the work was actually done by Jeremy Jarvis (who happens to be semi-well known). Now, you'll have to clarify the situation a bit more. "Client"? Sounds like a fairly upscale arrangement. So does the client know this Jason Steven's ripped off his art? Or could it be Jeremy Jarvis using a pen name (hey, it's been known to happen)? I'm just saying, you're automatically posting this warning, but a] you haven't posted his original paintings (the ones you claim are rip offs), and b] you haven't explained whether or not you addressed this issue with the "client" (like I said, he/she may know more about the situation than you're aware of).

If your issue turns out to be legit, then okay, and thanks for letting us know. I'm just suggesting you get all the details first before slinging the accusations (I got burned by that the other day, when I thought a sketchcard on ebay was a fake, I started posting on another board, then did the research before I hit 'submit', realized I was mistaken and closed the window. Unfortunately, the software for that forum set up/posted the thread anyway. I didn't know for about an hour, then had to come in and explain what happened...)

This Jason Stevens submitted to the client I'm working for to be part of a graphic novel that I'm working on as well. Of course my client is aware. I'm just making others aware. I wouldn't post about this if I wasn't aware of the situation...

I posted a link to the photobucket page Jason Stevens is/was using that has Jeremy Jarvis' work in it which Jason Stevens was posing off as his own work.

All you have to do is click on those to see them. If you want to see in fact that they were done by Jeremy Jarvis, not Jason Stevens, Google does wonders.

There is also a post about this by someone else in deviant art alerting those seeking artists about this poser.

Is that more clear?

Those last few pages were done by my ol' pal Ryan Stegman. They were from the book he did with Tony Lee at Markosia.

Yup those pencilled pages are from the book Midnight Kiss, written by Tony Lee and pencilled by Ryan Stegman for Markosia.
