Maybe I'm just stupid, but how do I...
type an ’ on my Mac keyboard? (yes, I had to copy and paste that from a script someone sent me)
When I type the ’ button key I get a ' See the difference? It's annoying. I tried ALT + ' which just gives me ć and ALT + SHIFT + ' which gives me Ć I can type ALT + e which gives me ´ but that's the thingy for doing the Spanish thingy "é" Clearly I have the same issue with my " key. thanks, -- J |

You're in need of the "smart punctuation" option.
Select your copy block (no need to highlight, at least in Mac). In the "Type" pulldown, you'll see "Smart Punctuation" about 3/4 of the way down. It allows you to choose seven categories of change, as well as the possibility of replacing just the selection or the entire document. When it's done, it will tell you what it did. |

ALT + ] = ‘
ALT + SHIFT + ] = ’ ALT + [ = “ ALT + SHIFT + [ = ” ' and " are the symbols for feet and inches. |
