Did you get caught in the traffic jam on I-95? Police shut it down in Norwalk, CT because they caught a suspect wanted for murder, it was shut down for a few hours.

There might be a billion other ones, but only ONE who matters.

Thank you, Joanne. Sorry to hear it took so long. I WAS getting a little concerned when it took so long for you to post.

The convention flooded, then a tornado hit, your family argued, your airplane hit a deer, someone's hand got sucked into a paper shredder, all while you looked beautiful at the same time!?

OK, here's the story.
I got directions from the hotel on how to get out of the city, head to New Jersey and make my way to PA, and once I got there, I knew how to get home NO PROBLEMO! So, she's wonderful and looks up all the directions on mapquest for me and I write it down so I'm all prepared.
A little bell rang in my head when it took her over 5 minutes to figure out mapquest once I gave her the address I was trying to go to in Niagara Falls, but I didn't listen to it. AND I SHOULD HAVE!!!!!!!!

So, I head on the road at 7 pm and over to New Jersey. I'm driving, very tired, have a flu coming on and I'm not recognizing all of the highways as being the same ones I travelled to NY city. I've hit New Jersey and I'm heading North so I'm not too worried about it. I continue driving, trying to convince myself that everything is OK when it's after 9 and I'm still in frikken New Jersey!!!!! So, when I pull over and ask directions from a gas attendant, he looks at the directions and assured me that I'm going the right way and to get back on the highway and go.
So I do...
11 oclock hits and I'm STILL NOT OUT OF JERSEY, but for some reason, I'm entering New York again. So, AGAIN, I pull over and ask about where I am, I am assured by the gentleman that I am indeed going North and heading towards Niagara Falls.
YAH!
At 11;30, I've had enough, so I pull over and stay at a hotel for the night as my throat's getting sorer and I'm just wiped.
I get up in the morning and talk to the hotel guy to confirm which road I want to go on and he askes why I didn't take the I-81 a few hours ago to go to Syracus?
I told him that's where i thought I was going, showed him the directions and he confirmed that I was on the road towards ALBANY, which is great if you have LOTS OF TIME, but not great if you're trying to get to Buffalo. So, we looked at a map and realized the lady at the hotel, when she was putting through the mapquest info, she must have pushed the "no tolls" button and that's why the route was different and a LOT longer.
SO, my 7 hour drive to Niagara Falls, turned into a frikken 11 1/2 hour drive...
grrrr...
I was so pissed when I got in my car Monday morning, I realized I still had a 7 hour drive and just broke down and sobbed.
It was NOT FAIR!

it's my own damn fault though. I'm always telling people to listen to their instincts but I didn't do that myself... idiot!

So, I went back to work today, was very edgy still, but managed to get myself back to normal by lunchtime.

You know what they say;

"If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself"

Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience. Being stuck in New Jersey? I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

PM me on where to send the GPS navigation unit. It's used, but has a Canadian accent available (so it probably says "eh" lots)!

Never drive to another country without a road atlas, blondie. (or at least call someone who can help ya!)

Sorry to hear it was a rough one. Feel better, lady.

Dang, Joanne! If you were heading for the I-81, you could have stayed at my place! (seriously, I'm right off the 81 in pennsylvania, right after you come off the I-80).
