Rob Liefeld School of Scrawling 101

Hey, I say we all get together and do something like a Pros VS Joes on here, wherein we go up against some of these professional dudes in a draw-off style competition.

I know there are some pros who post on here and it'd be pretty sweet to see the regular DW peeps bring out their A-game to go up against guys who do this for a livin'!!

Fanboys VS the Creators!!!

Make it so, MODS!!!!

What say you guys???

How many pros are you hoping to get involved by likening them to Mr. Liefield?

The whole thing sounds interesting to me to see. I probably wont compete, as most of the non-pros on here blow my sorry patootie out of the water, let alone the pros.

I might be up for this, but then you've got to consider that the pros have deadlines, so it might be difficult to keep on track and on time.

Who counts as a pro? Obviously guys who draw for Marvel and DC, but who else? Self-publishers? Small press? Web comic creators? Kep? I mean really, this could be sticky. You don't want to hurt people's feelings.

Why's Kep get his own category? My feelings are hurt, Newt.

It would be cool but I don't think, if you are pro, you'd be wasting time trying to prove you can draw to people who are still trying to prove themselves. Deadlines, free time, family, whatevers. Granted they do go on forums and stuff, but typing a reply is much easier than drawing something and posting it on-line.

It is a cool idea though. And I would probably do it, if we got some attention here.

Like the Jersey Devil or the chupacabra, he defies categorization.

All kiddin aside...I think you may be on to something.

I think in fairness you should create "teams"...have a "playoff". Even incorporate creative teams if you want to push it.

But keep it short and sweet.

Like a Best cover contest.Best opening scene.Best skit.ect...Treat it like the oscars.

Stuff that is smaller in scale and can take a day or so to put together and can include everyone from writers to pencillers, colorist and inkers.

Have someone like Melrose ref it (or create a team of 3 judges like on American Idol or something)...

my vote is for Melrose. he's probably one of the most level headed and fair individuals in here.
