I was working for the county of Napa during the wine crush. I used to rescue these guys from being crushed all day long. (also mice). There seems to be two specific types or possibly male and female. i type is brownish, the other typ had nice blue speckles on the back. Please identify.

For every lizard or mouse I pulled out, another dozen (at least) found their way in, plus I didn't pull out the dead stuff, so don't worry, plenty of flavor!

Those are lizards of the genus Sceloporus, variously known as swifts, spiny lizards, or fence lizards. I can't tell which particular species those belong to, but I believe you are correct on the male/female distinction. Sexual dichromatism is not common in reptiles, but many Sceloporus species do display it.
