Are you a fan of Doxxville ?
In case you've got the brain of a dead squirrel whom had rather extreme learning disabilities before it passed on, you may have noticed my pimping www.doxxville.com for the past year. Which to an extend seems to be working, I'm getting a steady flow of traffic and even have a nice little selection of fan art, which I'm always looking to expand.
Since writing my first novel 'Dwayne Hickenbottom and the War Boots of Doxxville' I've self published it through Lulu.com and set up a weekly webcomic at the above url. Sales of the book have been good - not great by any means, but seeing as I'm an unknown author, I'm laughing cartwheels. Now as I'm coming up on 50 issues of the webcomic I've been rediting the book to remove the odd spelling mistake that my editor rather embarrassingly missed and have been submitting it to various agents to try and get it into stores and to be available to a wider audience. I will also be 'repairing' the book on lulu so as to release a '2nd edition'. While I'm waiting to hear from the agents, I've started the second novel and am just over 52 000 words in. I'm now thinking about getting some T-shirts and apparel printed up with the Doxxville characters on. Have any of you guys used a P.O.D. Service for clothes or have any interest in wearing any doxxville gear? I've looked at cafepress.com, but I'm sure that's not the only ride in town. Thoughts? G. |

I have heard that some small, self-publishers were not real happy with CafePress but I really do not know the details.
I will buy a Doxxville shirt or coffee mug, and proudly pimp it wherever I go. Not because I am a fan, I just haven't really taken a look yet, but because you are living the dream and I will always do my best to give the support that I may (will?) someday need. Good Luck and let us know... Justin

I have heard this term Swag a lot in the last couple of years. I understand what it means...stuff, items, and the like, especially in reference to a particular brand or identity... but what does it reference or really mean?
Where did the word "swag" come from?

'Swag' used to be written on the sacks of thieves and robbers in reference to the stuff they carried within, they also used to wear striped sweaters, bad moustaches and were usually french.
Nowadays they are less french and wear halloween masks. I've not read any doxxville yet to be perfectly honest. I keep meaning to, Athena said it would be a really good idea and I will come to it when I can. I just haven't read any webcomics in a good few months, alas I'll get Doxx some fan art since he asked.

I'd like to read the book. |

Try www.comboutique.com rather than Cafepress, maybe. I hear it's better and seems pretty easy to use.

Bones
I think a Bones t-shirt would be cool. Also a Dwanye and Nigel design would be cool too.
