Hello, first time poster here.
Copyright question here, on the writing style for Registering the copyright for a comicbook series. Can you register the copyright as a comic series proposal?….Or can you only register it as a story for a comic series. I’d prefer to write it as proposal, if that’s possible. Be glad if you could answer this or point me to a good site? The Comicbook Kid |

I suppose you can register whatever you like, but that is what you are protecting. What is on the paper.
There is a special form for serial work and you still have to register each installment individually I believe. I also suppose you could write a story specifically for laying out the particulars of a world and group of characters in order to attempt to protect them, but a lot of that comes down to distinctness and whatever the courts will allow you. And someone's gonna post the link to the government's copyright website in a minute I'm sure. Thats' where you should go. Everything here is just people on a message board yaking. |

I've been doing my research on that site today lol.
I found this page there and I'm trying to get my head around it. (Brain not function good with this um law stuff ) http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ44.html If anyone can break it down for me…it would make my day! Anyway thanks for the info Buckyrig! |
