Metroid Prime 3 Help

Ummm... I'm stuck in this tall tower and there is a column that says it can be knocked over with localized explosives. I keep hitting it with my ice missles, my blast beam, and phazon, but nothing is working. I'm tired and annoyed and I'll probably go to bed before anyone answers me. I just got the giant golum to lift the big stone off of the entrance for me if that helps any....

Have you tried (power) bombs?

Nope. Turns out there was a pile of explosive crystals off thing the back that I couldn't see. I thought it said they were "non-volitile." I was wrong. : )
