Donner/Johns Action Comics

Does anyone know when and where this story line ends?

I've read the first four parts and kinda dug it. Im interested in seeing it finished but know there have been a ton of delays.

Any info is helpful.

Doesn't it end with Issue 857, due out later this month?

Their first arc (Zod and Chris Kent) will be concluded in the next Action Comics Annual.

That's what I thought Kevin but Action went from the Zod story, to fill in's to Eric Powels Bizarro story.

Thanks Rod... I'll keep an eye out for that.

It's been interesting, though not entirely successful, mostly due to the incredibly slow pace of the story.

Hmm...I wouldn't say it's slow, since a few issues in and the plot already thickens. It's the schedule that's slowing it down, how it's sliced in the middle of the first act. In collected form it's probably a fast paced story from what I've read so far.

This is the one problem I really have with DC right now.

They have too many big projects like this that are getting side-tracked because the creative teams are allowed to bite off more than they can chew at one time.

Geoff Johns writes six books a month plus does shows. Richard Donner still runs a movie production company. The Kuberts' (Adam & Andy) haven't been able to prouce six consecutive issues of art in years.

DC should have known that if this story arc wasn't in the can, it was going to be derailed by something.

It's often the same story, the creators are allowed to get away with too much.

Just read the Geoff Johns interviews about Action Comics on Newsarama:

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=133564

I had hoped for an answer on the end of the Phantom Zone/Zod story but alas, no info.

What makes matters worse... is now I think I want to add Action Comics to my list. This LoSHs story arc and Gary Frank's art really has my attention.

Damn you Geoff Johns... damn you to hell.

Gary Frank is on Action Comics? Is he the regular artist or just on a guest stint? Either way, I'm interested.
