WWE Wrestlers Suspended??

FRom the WWE website......

Based on independent information received from investigators from the Albany County, NY D.A.’s office, WWE has today, under the penalty provisions of its wellness policy, issued suspension notices to 10 of its performers for violations. It has been WWE’s practice not to release the names of those who have been suspended, but notice has been sent to all WWE performers that names of anyone who is suspended under the Wellness Policy as of November 1 will be made public.

....I wonder who..

From NY Daily News:

In a list obtained exclusively by the Daily News, top wrestlers Randy Orton, Charles Haas, Jr., Adam "Edge" Copeland, Robert "Booker T" Huffman, Shane Helms, Mike Bucci, Anthony Carelli, John "Johnny Nitro" Hennigan, Darren "William Regal" Matthews, Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson, Eddie "Umaga" Fatu, Shoichi Funaki and Chavo Guerrero were all identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, the site raided by Albany County and Florida law enforcement agencies in February for distributing steroids and other prescription drugs to clients who had not been examined by doctors. The investigation is part of a probe into illegal Internet drug distribution by Albany D.A. David Soares.
They are basically going after everyone that has used the same doctor that Benoit and Guerrero used.

Actually, I'm not sure, if this is the real list, how they are going to go about it. Edge and Helms have been out for months and won't be back for months. People say that WWE might just keep some of these guys on TV without pay, and keep them off tours and house shows.

They could bring back a few legends to help stop the bleeding, or push some lesser known, but otherwise good talent. Piper would be cool, bringing back Jericho would be great.

FROM PWTORCH: Customers of Signature Pharmacy, as exclusively reported in the New York Daily News:

-Adam Copeland (Edge)
-King Booker (Robert Huffman)
-Shane Helms
-Mike Bucci
-Anthony Carelli (Santino Marella)
-John Hennigan (John Morrison)
-Darren Matthews (William Regal)
-Ken Anderson (Ken Kennedy)
-Chavo Guerrero
-Randy Orton
-Charlie Haas

Edge and Sugar Shane are on the shelf with injuries so their suspensions (unless effective upon recieving medical clearance) would basically be seen as slaps on the wrist. The rest of the list is trouble for WWE creative. Regal is the acting Raw commissioner (a role that could be taken over again by Coach). Marella is in a minor angle with Maria and Ron Simmons turning him heel. Booker's run with Triple H and Lawler could've still had life at house shows. WGTT was finally about to get a real program going if this wek was any indication. And those were the minor holes the writers will have to fill. Randy Orton is in the "A" feud with Cena and Kenedy was rumored to be who would be revealed as Vince's bastard spawn. ECW is maybe the second most affected since I think they held off putting the belt on Punk at SummerSlam. Unless they were going to give us Rey/Chavo #537, he was going to be n a holding patern on SmackDown. Bucci...I got nothing? He SmackDown?

Here's somewhat of an update on the situation, though it's largely speculative:

http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=29906

If it's accurate that could really hurt WWE right now.

Ah, didn't notice Sean had posted.

Is the concern that they'll kill their wives if they're not suspended?

I find it interesting that law enforcement is so focused on the illegal use of a drug (steroids in this case) in one venue of entertainment (wrestling) and doesn't give two shits about people in television, movies, etc., who openly use other, more dangerous, illegal drugs. The guys in WWE make a decision to do this stuff to take the pounding night after night to keep the masses entertained-in a twisted sort of way, isn't that a lot more "noble" than some Hollywood starlet doing a line of blow, drinking a bottle of tequila and then mowing down motorists in her sportscar on the way to her mansion? Yeah, it's all wrong, but why doesn't the governemnt focus a little more on people who are a real menace to society instead of these guys-just my two cents.

No surprise that Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrerro and Brian Adams were also customers of Signature Pharmacy but you can add Batista and Funaki too.

Well, apparently people that do steroids in baseball only hit homeruns and bring more spectators to the games, but when wrestlers do steroids, they kill their families.

I remember reading a blog entry on Edge's Myspace page about Benoit's death, and he basically said he used steroids years ago to help recover from his first bad neck injury and never used them since.

After reading that article where it mentions he's bought roids after the drug testing program started, I went back and he's removed his blog entirely.

Also, if Masters is one of the 10 suspended, he'll be gone for 60 days since this is his second offense.

I think this is more of a stunt by Vince. He wants to have the appearance of doing something.
