hellcat drawing

This is a digital drawing I did of Marvel's Hellcat. The art and coloring was all done in Photoshop using some techniques that I've been studying from some conceptual artists. I'm trying to combine the two forms of art into something new and unique. Take a look and tell me what you think.

The head looks like it's been squished in a vice. And the boobs look funky.

And her waist is really impossibly small.

Hey, don't be too discouraged. I think the colors are working well, you just have some problems with the figure's proportions. Keep posting!

Make sure all your proportions are looking right before you go in and finish penciling. IT is okay to do rough frames if it means always getting good looking figures. As it stands the breasts are misaligned and her head is too narrow, shoulders are a little too wide and the hips too narrow. It is okay to have wide shoulders but balance it out with wider hips. Also, the weight-barring leg, (her right leg) the hip should be pushed up. Remember that rule, it is important. you can do a draw-over pretty easily on this one too. Good work so far, keep pumping stuff out.

well thanks for the comments. I think I hurried too fast into the coloring of this pic and didn't pay enough attention to the initial drawing. I'll rework this illustration and re post in the bit. Thanks for the comments. They are most appreciated.

Nah, that sort of went by the wayside after having too many server issues. I don't really post anywhere anymore. I'll just come around here now and then to see what's what and occasionally post something.

I miss the 9-v days though, we had a nice, small community over there. Good times. I think the front page is still there actually, but that's it. I haven't talked to EJ or anyone else in a long time. Eraser's the only one I talk to regularly.

Good to bump into you though

Chromo: Hell yeah man, Really I used to learn so much from you sketch thread, I am glad to see you are doing well. DO you have a DA account? I would really like to do some sketch jams with you man, just throw out some topics and we can screw around and post them up. The Pens and pixels and 9-volt forums were freaking cool back then. I was Giantsquid on the forums. Anyway, anytime you need some one to jam with man I would love that.
