Disappearing Background
A weird thing is happening to my saved pages on a current gig that I can't recall seeing before, and I was hoping Kep, Ninja or somebody who knows what they're doing can help me figure out what it is...
I'm making a special balloon to denote telepathy in this story and so I make the first balloon, then I copy and paste in back a second with a thicker, white border set at 3pt (on a seperate layer than the art, of course). When the page is done, I export the image as a 300 ppi .tif CMYK, but when I reopen the file in other software, i.e. Photoshop, Irfanview, what have you, the white borders are gone! On the examples below, all but one were missing. What happend here?? They're gone when I open the .tif AND the .ai file in Photoshop. With the border as seen in Illustrator 10 after saving: ![]() Without the border as seen after saving in Illustrator and reopening: ![]() I use these kinds of borders frquently, but never have I seen it do this. Any ideas what is causing it? |

Check your overprint stroke and make sure it's off for the white stroke balloon.
Also, you have a non-ponoun crossbar I going on there in that first panel "Is this thing on?" -- J |

DOH! Of course! I knew that... I was just seeing if YOU knew
![]() Actually, it's been a white since I've had to use white for this and that step skipped my mind. I will now remove my head from my butt and go wash my face off Thanks.
