Services to host your comic site -- any favorites?

At the moment, I'm hosting my comics material on my friend's server. It's very nice of him, but it makes updating slightly pesky, and there are speed issues. For those of you who currently have a site for their material, or who did in the past:

1. Which hosting services do your recommend, and why?

2. Which hosting services would you warn people away from, and why?
