Comics For A Cause: You're a HERO

An update of the CFAC preparation.

I'll be one of the guests of Comic and Toy show in Calgary in Spetember 30th and one of the main event of the show is the CFAC Silent Auction which will run during the show. There will also be a table where goodies like t-shirts, comics and baseball caps can be purchased and can also be ordered online as soon as the website is up and the store is available. The t-shirts will be in the printing next week. As always the net proceeds will go toward three goals for this year campaign.

The official website has already got a domain and soon will be in the design stage. I'm also getting all the artworks for the Silent Auction coming in every now and then and they're in the framing stage as we speak. More arts are anticipated to come in for the auction. The campaign book which is a collections of short stories contributed by well known individuals in the industry today are also gearing up in the scripting stage and some are already in my hands and will be in the production soon. I think this year is going to be the biggest campaign yet ever. And as CFAC goal increases, so are the contributors and donors who helped in any way and with their continued support of CFAC.

These are the people who are involve in this year's campaign. You guys are my HERO!

Just an update and few changes in the line up of the campaign book. Kevin's contributed story has been extended to 25 pages so we cannot accommodate it for this year's campaign book. After talking with Kevin, we decided to include it for 2008 campaign book instead for spring's biggest show. More announcement and images of the cover. This will be a surprise book that I know readers will be thrilled to have.

The next line up moved to Fist of Justice story and will also graze the cover. I'm already in the middle of laying out the cover and I'll be able to show you the image here. I'm so excited. Also I've expanded the line up to include the titles corresponding to creators.

CFAC camapign book title line up:

1) Fist of Justice: Monkey Business by Mike Imboden & Ed Dukeshire, Dario Carrasco and more

2)Joe Doogan: Dance! Izombies Dance! by Aaron Nelson, Dario Carrasco, Todd Swain, Rich Hiltbrunner & TG Sangalang

3) CloudBuster by Johnny Ortiz & Dan Beltran and more (Silver comics)

4) The Gull by Robert Richardson and Dario Carrasco and more

5) Dr. Chameleon by Lauren Monardo & Stephen Lindsay and more

6) Ms M by Hal Hillden and Will Caligan and more

7) Banana Gang by Michael Exner III and TBA

Cool Hey!

Hey! Dario, just an idea. Why don't you make a book with the pin-ups from the artists that's going to donate at the auction, it will be awesome to have these pieces together.

Salvador,
That's actually a cool concept but there's a copyright issues involved. We actually look at that regard and as it is there are some restrictions due to some of the pin-up arts are copyrighted by someone and cannot be reproduced in any way. So we can only sell them in this case. But if it's like, let's say Mask of the Gargoyle Pin-up, then I can give permission to reproduce it as the copyright holder. Make sense?

CFAC Cover

Here's the cover for the CFAC campaign book. The title is still up in the air at the moment. But it will be decided soon. It's going for a vote or something amongs people I'll ask later. If you guys have a suggestion, you can help us out. The theme for the book have heroic stories and the title should have 'HEROES' in it!

Suggestions:

New Age of Heroes
Frontier of Heroes

CFAC Titles?

Just bumping this up to ask all of you readers what you think is best for the CFAC book title. I have a couple of titles in mind but I only need one for this book I'm putting together this year. Please give your comments why you like a particular title and why you voted on it.

Titles for voting:

1) New Age of Heroes

2) Frontline of Heroes

I like Frontline of Heroes better because Heroes should always be in front tosacrifice themselves for others
