Annihilation Conquest Prologue

Very cool....

I thought the dialogue seemed to be a bit off for some of these characters in places but the concept and story are very cool.

You thought earth was screwed up.... Space in the Marvel Universe really isnt the place to be right now.

Can anyone tell me which issues/books are a must to follow this story? There are so many different Annihilation titles out (past, present and future), I don't know where to start. I know there are a couple hardcover collections already out but do I need to read all of the material? Any help would be appreciated.

You can start fresh with this book.

It's the first chapter of a new story arc and they do a decent job of telling you why everyone is where they are doing what they're doing.

It's running in the same format as the last Annilihation series:

Prologue
4 different four issue mini-series
the main 6 issue mini-series
one or two epilogue stories

Last time out the only mini-series I read was Silver Surfer and I understood everything ok. This time around I'll be reading Star Lord and Quasar but passing on the other two offered.

The whole event takes about a year to tell from beginning to end. The first one was really good. A lot of these characters are considered forgotten or second rate in the Marvel universe so they not only got some face time but the writers really changed their status quo and made a few of them shine.

If you want to go back and read the 1st sags Marvel is collecting them into a series of four or five trades. Might even be six once all is said and done. Im sure they'll do the same with this.

As a bonus: The story really started in Thanos #7-12 by Keith Giffen and Ron Lim waaaaay back in 2002. From there Giffen did a revamp of Drax the Destoryer (4 or 6 issue mini). I'll have to dig but there might even be a thrid book that lead into everything from the first Annihilation.

Thanks. I'll have to pick up this issue and then figure out what I want to do from there. I appreciate the feedback.

Just pick up "Annihilation Saga" which is a one issue recap of the entire first story.

Ha!

Forgot all about that. Not as fun as reading the issues though.

Yeah, I was thinking about picking up the "Saga" issue but part of the fun is reading the story. I picked up the six-issue Annihilation series (main title) to get caught up a little bit. I may decide to buy some of the collected editions down the road if I want to read more about Silver Surfer, Ronan, Super Skrull, etc.

I've been meaning to pick up the Ronan four issue series after I read the main six issue title but haven't had the chance yet.
