DWP/PUNKS/A&R Orders alert.

We're still like a couple weeks before final orders roll in for July's books. Thought it'd be cool to give you a stock market type update, except it's not in real time, and it only gets updated when I'm bored.

First number are orders submitted so far.

0784 - ABIGAIL & ROX IN THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT
0740 - DIGITAL WEBBING PRESENTS #34
1473 - PUNKS THE SUMMER COMICS SP (MR)

Yep.

But don't sweat it yet. Every time Ed did this with me for issues of DWP the first few are really teeny. Then you'll get socked with a couple of big ones. Reason being, if most retailers are like us, we wait until the last day to submit our order online to make sure everyone that wanted to special order something had the maximum amount of time to do so.

Well, I expected the number to be higher because I had retailers committed to the book weeks ago. So I hope they're just waiting for the last minute to order the book, or people are taking me for a ride.

This doesn't take into account all the pre-ordering? Where would that be listed?

Hang tight guys... just sit back and watch the numbers roll up.

It's like the Jerry Lewis Telethon - it always starts in dribs and drabs.

It's all preorders at this point. But just because you've placed your order doesn't mean your retailer has.

I meant with sites like DCBS and Nekosphere...is that what you're talking about, too?

Yep. They turn in their orders to Diamond all at once. (DCBS' order cutoff is May 28.)

Keeping with the telethon theme; it's like when you donate money at 7-11 (or whatever) and then they in turn present a big check to Jerry.

Even the numbers on BR are usually around just a few hundred until the cut-off hits and all the retailers submit their shiznit.

Does that mean you won't be able to order DWP #34 or any other titles due out in July from DCBS after May 28th?

That's the official due date. DCBS is good about working with customers who miss the cutoff, but it's best if you get your order in by May 28.
