Comic Strip Artist's Kit
Some of you have undoubtedly seen the famous "Comic Strip Artist's Kit," created by Disney comic-book artist Carson Van Osten. But in case you haven't, Mark Kennedy has posted larger, crisper versions of the six pages, taken from original copies provided by Van Osten himself.
There's a lot of great information, particularly for those artists just starting out, as Van Osten addresses "wooden" characters, thumbnailing and staging, and imparts a few tricks of the trade. See the entire handbook here.

Wow, I've been doing everything backwards!
Shame on me for thinking anything as "simple" or "cartoony" as Mickey Mouse couldn't teach me something new about more "realistic" work. |

I'm going to start giving these to every client on principle. You have no idea how many close-ups i have to letter that have a fukll exchange of dialog...drives me bonkers.

Thanks for posting this KD.
I had never seen these pages before, but I had gradually picked up on most of the ideas through a process of trial-and-error. Still, having these is an asset to any storyteller and they are quite wonderful to look at. I really like the hand-lettering as well.
