Wasn't even aware of this one. Released in September. Anyone read it yet?

Yeah, it's pretty good. Nothing really NEW, but the way he lays it all out, and the exercises in each chapter, I think it could really aid anyone interested in making comics.

Ahh...didn't realize he had referred to a book there. I don't know who has a column and who has a blog, etc... Thought it was an online reference when I read it.

I've never really gotten more than a snippet here and a useful tip there from really anything, so it still sounds worth a read.

I've read both Making Comics and Understanding Comics. One really disappointing thing about Making is its lack of discussion over page layout, panel composition, and reading flow. For everything else, it is a pretty good read.

It doesn't have the mind-expanding insights of Understanding, or the chutzpah of Reinventing. But it's a solid, practical book that would serve well as a textbook for a cartooning class. Definitely worth picking up, and I think I'll be re-reading it a few times to better assimilate it all.

I have it, but haven't finished reading it. By the way, chapter 5 1/2 is up.
