Web Comic Sequentials

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've posted in the Sequentials boards. Here is some work for a webcomic that I did. I tried to get a little out of my comfort zone with these. I appreciate any feedback, positive or negative, that you would like to give. Thanks!
(You can see the fully lettered version at the webcomic's site:

I went and read this on your website. Nice work. I like your artwork a lot. There are some minor clunky parts, for example your figures without shadows aren't as pretty as your figures with shadows. But that's not worth worrying about... you keep doing it, everything gets better.
Are you sure you're able to produce this quality of work indefinitely? I'm on week 45 of mine. I purposefully developed a style that I can do well in one hour a day. And I'm still cutting corners, forgetting, and half-assing it on the due day. Some of the recent episodes are looking terrible for that reason. How are you feeling after a month of work?

Hi Rex, Thanks for the encouraging words.
To answer your question, this was just a limited engagement. The writer wanted 4 episodes and that's it for now. But, yeah, I would shoot to use this style for a weekly comic. I thought the subject matter was kind of dark and gritty so I tried to reflect that in the artwork. If the story was a bit lighter I may have gone with a more cartoony style. But I did my fair share of half-assing on these pages anyway, and if I wanted to spend more time on each page I could, but this was about as much time/effort as I could justify for this project.

Some of your camera angles (all of page 1, except the panel where the character enters the alleyway) really don't add the story and don't lead the viewer's eye very well.

P. 1, panel 1 & 3 repeat the same angle without any addition to the action. panel 4 feels too extreme.

P. 2, not really understanding the 4th panel, helmet guy's (I know, good description) arm look smaller than it should. Also, they're in an alleyway, but then a helicopter is able to land? Needs some indication of an area where it could land, because before we were still an alley.

P. 3, is pretty good.

P.4, is pretty good, except the last panel makes it like the last three pages never happened. No sparks coming from the helmet guy and the goggles guy has no visible damage to his face, like a punchline to a joke strip is that panel's feel.

There's a book on picture composition http://www.amazon.com/Framed-Ink-Dra...ds=composition that may help.

Not bad...I'm assuming since the pages are taller than wide that you guys are thinking of going to print one day.....I usually expect web art to be wider than tall [to simulate a computer screen]...but I guess with all the devices these days, it's all good.

Thanks for the comments.
ponyrl: I purposely tried to use more angled shots for these pages because I thought I was using too many straight shots in my work and wanted to try something new. I guess I could have planned them out a bit better. Usually I just did it to make things less boring and a bit more dynamic (Panel 1 page 1) or to help me fit in all the characters and dialogue in a limited space (Panel 4 page 1). Thanks for the input and advice!
