caricatures in different styles

Some recent commissions, using color pencils for one and watercolor markers for the other two... My scanner can't quite pick up some of the light pinks/ flesh tone/ yellows etc, but anyway:

I kind of see that now that you mention it. It's funny, I've never been that familiar with him, but I did read sort of similar artists like Floyd Gottfredson's Mickey Mouse strip. Uderzo looks to be of that same school.

Oh and artman, I thought you meant Asterix too, missed your header there... Yeah definitely a big Jack Davis fan. I've tried to study his art as much as I can. Should probably get that big Fantagraphics collection, despite the mixed reviews.. No book is perfect lol, I'm sure it's got some great pieces.

That's the one I'm thinking about. I would prefer paperback to hardcover though.
