What's it like working on a Chris Claremont book?

I occasionally wonder what whether I should become an editor, because it sometimes appears to be easy money!
Leaving aside the fact that I appear to be continuously subbing scripts, here are some of my favourite catches in strips that I've worked on… no names, no pack drill. :-) Bangladesh did not exist in 1815. (From the same strip) Neither did the telephone and, even if it did, it wouldn't have looked like this: ![]() An armada refers to a fleet of ships and cannot be applied to a bunch of blokes on horseback. London is not on the coast. "Avarice" does not mean "hatred". If you are writing a book about the "greatest magician of his age" might it not be an idea to look up the word "prestidigitation" rather than simply chucking random letters at the page until you get something that sort of looks right if you squint at it… I'm pretty sure the spell-checker would have flagged up "predistigation"… A short pause in a conflict would be a respite, not a repose. Feel free to share! Cheers Jim Last edited by JimCampbell; 01-21-2012 at 10:57 AM. Reason: Typo |

When I was writing Image's Supreme series, I had the villain's hideout in Fort Knox--which I thought was in Washington D.C. -- the locale of the story.
I was embarrassed later to find that fort Knox is in Kentucky [I think?]. Makes ya wonder how the villain went from Kentucky to DC and back again in a span of only hours. >sigh< Kurt Hathaway khathawayart@gmail.com |
