space...the final frontier.

more kirby inspiration. jack was all about action. even a character standing had great movement and power. in this drawing i channeled his love of the upshot and use of forced perspective to create this pic.

thanks kong, kirby is a huge influence, i am defiantly all digital now. i used to do a hybrid, starting off with an ink sketch but digital is so versatile, i would not go back.

the Cat and the Bat

making an effort to create depth by using textures and opacity on different layers.

good stuff here again.
Your Kirby inspiration I think looks like a Galactus type. Works well I my opinion.

The batman with the fangs the shadow should spread out across the wall. It should be larger than the figure because the candle is close to the body. I think it would work for the composition as well.

thanks artsnake, i agree. i did struggle with whether i should call it a galactus redesign, but since the intent was just to draw an out there helmet, i chose otherwise. as for the shadow, sounds like a good idea.

thanks kong, i use clip studio pro. in my opion, it is a perfect programfor comic book artists. it does some things better than photoshop as far as making and illustrating comic books. Dave Gibbons and Brian Haberlin are a couple of notable pros who use it. I use a 10 in surface pro with a pen as far as hardware goes. it's an oldy but goody. drawing directly on the screen, i used to use a graphic tablet and laptop, has helped me improve my final results.

i cant recommend clip studio enough, it has a ton of tools, still have not learned them all, and it it great for comic book artists and there's the pro ex version which has even more tools and options.
