robyn hood

pencils = eric basaldua
inks = james goodwin

I won the original inked page that James did for this in an impromptu competition of his, so, since it's on its way in the mail, I thought I'd better colour it up PDQ!

cheers
Sean

If your coloring was chocolate, that would be a Belgian Truffle.

*applause* for the care you took, the attention you paid to the gold lattice on the dirk's sheath and her embroidery on the shoulder.

(yes, I know, it's not really a dirk, it's too broad and too short and she's technically a member of the Cymry and related Celtic Tribes as opposed to any of the descendants of warriors from Alba)

Very nice I like what you've done with it :3 My only real problem is her upper lip. Considering the lighting source the top lip should be shaded darker than the bottom, they way it is now her lips look a little swollen.

I half agree with Rika.

with real women who have not been wrongfully convinced to abuse their face with surgery, Rika's statement is right-on.

But sadly we do not live in a world where women hurting their lips via doctors are a minority.

Oh, hell...that's nice.

I've been in the comics biz 27 years and I get asked a lot to recommend folks from time to time...pencillers, inkers, colorists. If you have a PDF portfolio of your work, forward it to me and I'll put it in my share folder so next time someone asks, I can show your work.

And if you don't have one -- MAKE ONE!

BE SURE IT HAS CONTACT INFO.

Then get one. Some are free--or even cheap to buy. You gotta make it easy for people to see your work.

IF you want to work in the biz, anyway. If it's just a hobby, then never mind.

I'll make you an offer---get me a few samples [the only one I've seen is this Robyn Hood thing].

If I like the other stuff, too....I'll put a PDF together for you. Send it to my email with your email, too... I'm doing this for free, so make it easy for me.
Fairly hi-rez tiffs if you can manage it. A colorist shouldn't be working in jpeg mode, anyway. Lots of file share sites out there to send files to me.

If you don't know my rep---I've been a comics freelancer for over 20 years...all the major publishers. Google me if you must...I did yesterday after a another freelancer friend told me to...and even I was surprised at all the results.

I'm goin' out a limb here to help you....when I was up to my eyeballs as an editor at Image Comics with deadlines, I wouldn't do that....I had no time. These days I have a few days a month to do favors or watch TV.

If I like the other stuff, I'll make your PDF--send you a copy and save a copy on my hard drive that I can share with interested clients.

After that, it's up to you to make your own way in the world...but I LOVED that Robin Hood piece. Freakin' wonderful.

I can't promise anything, but I like what I see--so here I am.
