My opinion, take it or leave, is that Poser (and its ilk) is intended for reference, not for production work. This is especially true when using the stock poses and facial expressions that come off as unnatural and awkward.

Anyway, I'm sure some folks have no issue with it, but it's not for me.

It's not for me either....like more human input.

However, if your going this route, you need to be pushing it more.
There are many panels with almost NO background, and 3d programs are great for creating backgrounds.
Another area is the lighting, very unrealistic lighting. Ie: black skys and perfectly lit grounds and figures. Lighting that makes alot of the figures appear shiny and plastic.

3d programs are usually for creating realistic images, even Monsters Inc has realistic shadows and textures. Use the strengths of the medium or why bother?

Not trying to sound harsh, more a challenge to take your art to a higher level.
