These are some super nice and tight inks, Vandal! Glad to hear you prefer inking on paper rather than digital inking, When I do get a chance to lay some ink down (which isn't often) I'm also in the camp of people who prefer to feel the ink going down on the surface, makes it feels more real to me. I think it's like the difference between a CG effect and a practical effect in a movie; something that you have touched or can touch actually has weight and presence and that's true even in something as ethereal as inking. This first piece in the thread is likely my fave; when I first looked at it, I thought Brian Bolland was posting here; it looks that good. Are you using pens/markers or crowquills? Either way, the combination of you, ink and paper is dynamite!

I am mostly a brush guy. I do use quills and tech pens as well but no markers. And Brian Bolland? LOL I am not even in the same universe as that guy but thanks for the compliment!

I don't ink for money. I ink because it's therapeutic to my soul. Digital inking can't do that for me personally. It's cold and empty to me. I like actually feeling the paper and smelling the ink even if it doesn't smell so good.
