“Proving Ground”

Hi, people. I’d like to see if we can post a drawing in any medium on this thread of x-men’s “wolverine”. Old or new... just to gather it all together so we can get a feel of how our artwork is going and a chance to see a whole bunch of art. ( I haven’t begun to draw one yet, but will post soon). So, join in and enjoy. Let’s see those blades!!
Deadline is next Sunday, may 20th. Hopefully we’ll see a lot of work.

Wolverine was always one of my favorite characters (I mean the original, not all the other wolverines running around the marvel universe now)

Kajinink, rotate the drawing...

Looks like you know comic art somewhat, but need to keep at it and try some more to get better, IMO.

RobertS, you captured him best! It’s too bad this weren’t a contest. You’d win. And thanks Tim, you “rock” dude. I appreciate your comment. Nice to get the feedback. Glad to see your Wolverine’s guys - thanks for participating.

Rereading my comment though it's not that helpful probably. As you say, the inks seem a bit rushed. I think you do have a good sense, maybe from looking at comic art, of the general muscle masses. But it might be good to do some drawing from life or photographs, and try to get more of a sense of depth and form. Right now looks a little flat. Maybe try some more varied poses too, it's actually difficult to draw such a "model sheet" type pose like that.

Hi, TimR. Looking back on those two drawings - they do look kinda funny. But you were on point w/ the first critique and that was extremely helpful! Thanks for the 2nd critique as that was helpful too.
I haven’t read a comic in years, pretty much and just started drawing again. I guess what you see up there was just a handful of memories on paper, but I’ll keep in mind what you said and of course keep on drawing!
Thanks again and all the best.
